As you probably know, KMSA is Mesa State College’s radio station. Sooo, what that means to you, lovely listener, is that we will be having new shows, DJs, and a lot more coming up here soon! The new semester begins August 23rd and we are extremely excited. Stay tuned and check in here for updates on these new DJs, shows, and upcoming events (because there will be a lot!). Also, be excited for our new studio, and the birth of KMSA Video. We’ll make sure you know what’s up.

For Those Who Have Rocked…

KMSA would like to thank everyone who came out to the VFW on Saturday, May 1st for the Those Who Have Rocked showcase. We would love to thank everyone for helping us raise $900 for the Honor Flight, sending WWII vets to Washington DC! While we won’t be going on the May flight, we will be saving the money for the next Honor Flight, and we’ll keep fund-raising to make sure as many vets can go as possible. We are very excited to be a part of such a great cause, and we’re happy you were too. KMSA would also like to thank the Metal Authority’s own Hatchet for putting the event together. Not even Nathan Explosion could call this brutal.

Do you like classic rock, but don’t hear your favorite tunes on the other radio stations? We’ve got you covered. Tune in on Sundays from 4-7pm for Blast From the Past with David! Playing the best classic rock you can’t hear anywhere else but your iPod, and lets face it, you know you’d rather hear it on KMSA.

Alicia, Bacchus, and Professor Tucci just got back from Vegas! Why were they there? Well, to get new equipment for KMSA, of course! Every year in Las Vegas, there are 2 conferences, NAB and BEA. Because of these, KMSA will be getting new mics, new boards, a new transmittor, a new automation system and a WHOLE lot more. This will be in addition to moving to our new state of the art facilities in the new College Center, opening the beginning of next year. If we have to wait much longer, we might just pee ourselves. Oh yeah, and pictures of the trip coming soon.

Well, we only have a few weeks left of school! Some of your favorite DJs will stick around for the summer, some will be back next year, and some will be gone for good! Thus is the college radio station life. Be sure to keep updated on who’s on-air and who’s not by clicking on our “Schedule” tab. But don’t worry, everyone, KMSA will still rock over summer, and will rock again next semester.

New Shows!

KMSA is always adding new shows to it’s schedule. Sundays from 1-4pm, Tori and Brennan are bringing you The Recovery, alternative and indie. Mondays 5-7pm, Mellow Mondays are going to be doing the same, and showcasing local bands as well. Thursdays, we’ve got a new hip-hop show from 7-10pm with Mixtape Megatron. After that at 10, Between the Sheets with Smooth Ricky (shown) is bringing old school R&B over the waves from 10-12pm. And finally, the new sports show, Friday Morning Fanatic will be running from 9-10am every Friday morning. For more information, check out our Schedule page!

Rock Block

KMSA will be outside of the Smoke Shack, Grand Junction’s first and only Hookah Bar on April 2nd! Come check us out and the hookah bar, of course. They’ll be giving out free Hookahs! We’ll be selling merch! We’ll be there around 6:00pm. There’ll be live music, and we’ll be streaming live as well. Awww yeah.

The Smoke Shack will be giving away a few free hookahs at the end of the night, so make sure you stick around to get your very own hookah!
